We believe that the Bible is the complete, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. We believe that all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, that we might be equipped for every good work. The Bible alone has the final say on faith and practice, and should have no supplement or substitution. At Counteract USA, the Word of God is our anchor and guide for all we say, do, and believe. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Joshua 1:8, Isaiah 40:8)
We believe that God’s original design for creation is best, including His design for marriage, family, gender, and sexuality. Therefore, we believe that God lovingly created the human race as male and female, and that marriage is between one man and one woman. Any deviation from God’s original design is sin, so any sexual activity outside of marriage is sin. We believe that His design is best and most loving: you cannot out-compassion God.
(Matthew 19:4-6, Luke 6:46-49)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Thus, truth is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We believe in absolute truth, which is found in the Word of God alone, rejecting postmodernism and the relativism of progressive Christianity.
(John 14:6, Hebrews 13:8, Matthew 7:24-27)
We believe that though our world is broken, the believer can rejoice in the hope of knowing that Jesus is returning to redeem all things. We believe that the body of Christ is commissioned to proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. We believe that cultural and political discourse are effective avenues for sharing the Gospel, which is our ultimate goal in all we do at Counteract USA. (Hebrews 9:28, Revelation 22:12, Revelation 21:1-5)
(Matthew 19:4-6, Luke 6:46-49)
We believe that the body of Christ should be the hands and feet of Jesus in their communities, states, and nation. At Counteract USA, we form a coalition with like-minded believers by meeting and discussing cultural and political issues through the lens of a Biblical worldview. We believe that believers should be informed and engaged citizens, voting according to their Biblical values. We also believe in the power of prayer, and believe it is our duty to pray as a group for spiritual revival of our nation. (Matthew 18:20, Hebrews 10:24-25, Galatians 6:2, 1 Corinthians 12:25-27, Proverbs 27:17) (John 14:6, Hebrews 13:8, Matthew 7:24-27)
Counteract USA cells are peer-to-peer discipleship groups where believers form communities by meeting regularly to discuss the key issues of our day through the lens of a Biblical worldview. Through these intentional conversations, participants build iron-sharpens-iron relationships, strengthen their faith in Jesus, and develop Biblical critical thinking skills to then go out into the world to discern truth, stand boldly for the truth of the Bible, and engage their individual spheres of influence with grace and truth.
The Resolve to Stand Conference is a powerful event we host each fall in Northwest Arkansas, designed to embolden Christians of all ages to resolve to stand upon the truth of the Word of God, no matter the cost. Through compelling speakers of all ages, inspiring panels, fellowship opportunities, and worship, attendees are encouraged and equipped to engage in cultural and political conversations for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The conference furthers Counteract USA’s mission by encouraging believers to stand upon the truth of the Word of God and influence their communities for the gospel.
There really isn’t an age limit to the mission and vision of Counteract USA, but our target ages are 13-30 with both high school and young
adults’ cells.
We’re not a political action group and we’re not a Bible study: Counteract USA exists to equip everyday believers to apply Biblical truth to cultural
and political issues. By forming community through intentional, Biblical worldview conversations, our hope is that Counteract USA members are equipped through their cell to then go into their individual spheres of influence, stand boldly for the truth of the Bible, and leverage cultural and political conversations for the sake of the gospel.
When we first started, we stumbled across a quote in Rod Dreher’s Live Not By Lies that kind of described what we thought God was calling us to in counteracting the hopelessness of our culture with the hope of the gospel of Jesus: “The task of the Christian dissident today is to personally commit herself to live not by lies. How can she do that alone? She needs to draw close to authentic spiritual leadership—clerical, lay, or both—and form small cells of fellow believers with whom she can pray, sing, study Scripture, and read other books important to their mission. With her cell, the dissident discusses the issues and challenges facing them as Christians, especially challenges to their liberties. They employ the Kolaković method of See, Judge, Act. That is, identify the challenge, discern together its meaning, then act on your conclusions.”
Yes! Our team has developed discussion guides to serve as a tool and a resource to guide each Counteract USA conversation. Each discussion
moves through a basic process of: Define the Topic, Relate it to Culture, Submit it to Scripture, and Find the Application. Our hope is that we not
only gain deeper knowledge of a given subject through each meeting, but are gradually developing a process of Biblical, critical thinking that can be applied to any topic or circumstance in life.
